Abstract

Climate change and its ef ect on human health are among the most popular scientific research topics, nowadays. The most visible ef ects of climate change and extreme weather events may be seen in the field of infectious diseases. Climate change has significant ef ects on the all four determinants of infectious diseases; microbes, vectors and/or reservoirs, host, and environment. However, the number of the studies that reval the direction and the degree of the association between infections and climate change is not many. Although there are some conf icting results it can be stated that climate change cause an increase in the incidence of infections and make them more widespread. As an outcome ofclimate change, increase in infectious diseases mostly threaten the underdeveloped countries. On the other hand epidemics can easily cross the borders and reach to wealthy countries. Although they are not af ected as much as underdeveloped countries, wealthy countries are obliged to take the responsibility in preventing climate change. Otherwise, the world will rapidly continue to progress towards becoming a planet that is inconvenient for life
