Abstract

Two cases of the lingual thyroid Lingual thyroid is a rare anomaly which is due to failure of the descent of thyroid gland from foramen caecum of tongue to lower neck and remaining of residual thyroid tissue along the thyroglossal duct. Tongue is the most common location. We report 2 lingual thyroid cases, one being symptomatic whereas the other asymptomatic and both are in subclinic hypothyroidism with clinical, laboratory and imaging findings.
