Abstract

In this study, rotational creep properties of RTA (Ready To Assemble) furniture joints that were constructed with medium-density-fiberboard (MDF) and particleboard (PB) using mechanical fasteners were evaluated. Wooden dowels were also included in the study. Joint specimens were subjected to three level of loadings for up to 10 000 minutes. Results indicated that long-term rotations were doubled indicating major stiffness reduction of the joints tested. Rotational creep of the joints can be modeled using four elements analog.

Özet

Bu çalışmada orta yoğunlukta liflevha (MDF) ve yongalevha (YL) ile mekanik bağlantı elemanları kullanılarak oluşturulmuş montaja hazır mobilya birleştirmelerinin uzun süreli yüklemeler altındaki rotasyonal sünme özellikleri araştırılmıştır. Kavelalı birleştirmeler de çalışmada test edilmiştir. Deney örnekleri üç farklı seviyede 10 000 dakikaya kadar yüklemelere maruz bırakılmıştır. Sonuçlar bütün birleştirmelerin uzun süreli yüklemelerde rotasyonlarını ikiye katladığını yani elastikiyetlerini yitirdiklerini göstermiştir. Çalışmada testedilen birleştirmelerin rotasyonel sünme özellikleri dört elemanlı analog ile modellenebilir.
