Abstract

The relation between the number of mast cells within adenoid tissue and the severity of otitis media with effusion is discussed. Total number of mast cells and the weight of adenoid tissue in patient with both otitis media with effusion and adenioid tis-sue hypertrophy alone (n: 13). The increase in the total number of mast cells in the former group was found to be significant where there was no difference in total weight of adenoid tissue between group.

Özet

Efozyonlu otitis medialı olgularda adenoid dokunun içerdiği mast hücre sayısının efüzyonlu otitis mediaya etkisini araştırmak amacıyla efüzyonlu otitis media ve adenoid doku hipertrofısi olan üçü bayan, onbiri erkek 14 olgunun adenoid dokularındaki mast hücre sayısı ve adenoid doku ağırlıkları, sadece adenoid doku hipertrofısi olan dördü bayan, dokuzu erkek 13 olgunun bulguları ile karşılaştırıldı. Çalışma grubunun mast hücre sayısındaki yükseklik anlamlı, adenoid doku ağırlıkları arasındaki fark ise anlamsız bulundu.
