Abstract

Probiotics are alive microorganisms consisting of bacteria, fungi with or without yeasts. They have beneficial effects improving intestinal balance beyond the nutritional ones commonly known. When ingested alive in sufficient amount. The use of probiotics in animal production may reduce problems caused by antibiotic therapy, promotes growth and reduces problems occured from inadequate management. The aim of this paper was to evaluate the effects of the usage of probiotics in calf nutrition on performance and health
