Abstract

Purpose: Studies have been going on for the treatment of exudative form of age related macular degeneration for years and after the addition of photodyamic therapy, laser applications have become the main treatment option for this disease. In recent years, new medical treatment options are being investigated (antiangiogenic agents) via preclinical and clinical studies. In this text, novel medical treatment modalities under investigation are summarized.

Özet

Amaç: Yaş tip senil makula dejeneresansı tedavisi için uzun yıllardır çalışmalar yürütülmekte olup fotodinamik tedavinin de eklenmesiyle lazer uygulamaları bu hastalık için ana tedavi şeklini oluşturmuştur. Son yıllarda özellikle yeni medikal tedavi seçenekleri (antianjiojenik ajanlar) araştırılmakta, preklinik ve klinik çalışmaları devam etmektedir. Bu makalede son yıllarda gündemde olan medikal tedavi yöntemleri değerlendirilmiştir.
