Bu makalede, Demokrat Parti döneminde, siyasal iktidar ile üniversite arasındaki gerilimli iliskiyi konu edinirken bir diger taraftan da üniversite kurumunun kurucu ilkesi olan akademik özgürlügün 1961 Anayasası ile anayasal güvenceye kavusma sürecini de izlemeyi hedefledik. Nitekim bu süreç aynı zamanda akademik özgürlük ilkesinin Türkiye siyasal kültüründe oldugu kadar üniversiter kültüründe de yer edinememesi ve kök salamamasının nedenlerine iliskin önemli ipuçları sunuyor.
