The lack of an objective method for the quantitative evaluation of pain in the clinical trials is a major problem. The various algometric measurements obtained by different clinicians may change the diagnosis of the disease. The purpose of this study is to assess the variability of the algometric measurements using a pressure algometer between the observes in 34 healthy subjects. Significant differences between the mean tender point count (especially in trapezius, supraspinatus and second costochondral junction measurement) mean control point score and mean total myalgic score have been established.

Klinik ağrı araştırmalarında, ağrının kantitatif değerlendirilmesinde objektif bir metodun olmayışı büyük bir problem teşkil etmektedir. Farklı klinisyenler tarafından yapılan farklı algometrik ölçümler hastalık tanısını değiştirebilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, basınç algometresiyle 34 sağlıklı birey üzerinde yapılan algometrik ölçümlerde gözlemciler arası farklılıkların değerlendirilmesidir. Çalışmada özellikle bilateral trapezius, supraspinatus ve 2. kostokondral bileşkeler olmak üzere yapılan tüm ölçümlerde ortalama hassas nokta sayısı, ortalama kontrol nokta skoru ve ortalama total miyaljik skorlarda istatistiksel anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmiştir.
