Abstract

Congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation is a congenital lung lesion that is associated with enlargement of terminal bronchus. The prognosis depends on the severeness of patholgy and other anomalies. The primigravid presented on her 22th week with the ultrasound findings of a fetus with multiple macrocyts in left lung in left hemithorax. No other abnormalities, fetal hydrops or polyhydramnios was existing. The diagnosis with these findings was then congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation of the lung type 1. The ongoing pregnancy was normal and no change occured on the lesions by the 38th week. The patient delivered a 3100g, healthy girl with cesarean section. There was no undesired problem with the baby on the third month. Congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation can lead to fetal or neonatal demise from hydrops, lung hypoplasia, prematurity or severe associated malformations, but has a good prognosis in the majority of cases.
