Abstract

Use of spironolactone in the maintanence therapy of severe congestive heart failure or refractory hypertension, became widespread after being awared that of beneficial effects of sprinolactone on mortality and morbidity in these patient subset. Some sporadic cases of hyperkalemia due to spironolactone therapy in these patients were reported in the past. Herewith, we presented two patients who experienced severe hyperkalemia during treatment both angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors or angiotensin reseptor blockade and spironolactone.
