Abstract

Purpose: To evaulate the effect of argon laser photocoagulation on the prognosis of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR). Material and Method: Argon laser photocoagulation (ALP) was performed in 15 of 30 CSCR cases and 15 of them had only medical therapy and these two groups were compared. Results: While there were no statistically significant differences about final visual outcome between ALP performed and nonperformed groups (p>0.05), average duration for recovery was found to be decreased (4 week) (p<0.05) and there was no recurrences in follow-up period in ALP performed group. Conclusion: ALP is a safe and effective choice to shorten the recovery period and prevent the recurrences in eyes with CSCR.
