Objective & Hypothesis:Acute, nonenfectious enflamation which occur after intraoculer surgery due to a toxic agent in the anterior chamber is known as toxic anterior segment syndrome (TASS).

Abstract

Acute, nonenfectious enflamation which occur after intraoculer surgery due to a toxic agent in the anterior chamber is known as toxic anterior segment syndrome (TASS). It is characterized of decrease in visual acuraty, increase of intraocular pressure, fibrin reaction or hypopyon in anterior chamber, irregular pupil and complications such as periphery anterior adhesives, resistant glaoucoma or bullous keratopathy. Distunguishing of bacterial endophtalmitis, diagnosing and appropriate managment of this table are determine of prognosis. The diagnosis, managment and distunguising are discussed for a case whom develop TASS after 3rd. day of uncomplicated cataract surgery.

Özet

Göz içi cerrahilerinden sonra görülen, ön kamaradaki toksik bir ajana bağlı olarak gelişen akut, nonenfeksiyöz inflamasyon tablosu toksik ön segment sendromu (TÖSS) olarak bilinir. Görme azalması, göz içi basınç artışı, ön kamarada fibrin reaksiyon veya hipopiyon, düzensiz pupilla ve geç dönemde periferik ön sineşi, dirençli glokom veya büllöz keratopati gibi komplikasyonlar ile karakterizedir. Bu tablonun endoftalmiden ayırtedilmesi, tanı ve tedavisinin uygun yapılması prognozu belirler. Komplikasyonsuz katarakt cerrahisi sonrası 3. günde TÖSS gelişen bir olgu nedeni ile tanı, tedavi ve ayırıcı tanı tartışılmıştır.
