Abstract

Lyme disease is a multisystem disorder transmitted by ticks of the genus Ixodes and caused by Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato. Its early clinical symptom is erythema chronicum migrans. Herein, two seronegative erythema chronicum migrans cases diagnosed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) are reported. We emphasize the importance of PCR in early detection of B. burgdorferi sensu lato.

Özet

Lyme hastalığı Ixodes cinsi kenelerin vektör olduğu Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato tarafından oluşturulan sistemik bir hastalıktır. Erken klinik evrede ilk bulgu eritema kronikum migranstır. Bu bildiride polimeraz zincir reaksiyonu (PCR) ile tanısı konulmuş iki seronegatif eritema kronikum migrans olgusu tartışılmıştır. Bu bildiride B. burgdorferi sensu lato'nun erken evre tanısında PCR'nin önemini vurgulamak istedik.
