Abstract

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of vision loss in the developed countries. For many AMD patients, the use of low vision aids and rehabilitation programs is of great help and allows them to enhance their quality of life and remain independent. In this article, importance of visual rehabilitation methods and principles in age related macular degeneration (AMD) is discussed and personal experiences are noted

Yaşa bağlı makula dejenerasyonu (YBMD), gelişmiş ülkelerde görme kaybının birinci sebebidir. Yaşa bağlı makula dejenerasyonlu hastaların çoğunda, az görme yardım cihazlarının kullanılması ve az görme rehabilitasyon programları ile bağımsız yaşam ve yaşam kalitesinin yükselmesi sağlanabilir. Bu makalede yaşa bağlı makula dejenerasyonuna (YBMD) bağlı görsel yeti kaybında, görsel rehabilitasyon yöntem ve prensiplerine değinilmiş ve bu konudaki bireysel deneyimler paylaşılmıştır
