Abstract

This study investigates the short and long run effects of energy consumption, economic growth and the urbanization rate on the carbondioxide emissions by employing data of 1960-2011 in Turkey. Test results support that there is a longterm relationship among the variables. While the energy consumption economic growth and urbanization rate have a positive effect on CO2 emissions in the long term, the economic growth and urbanization rate does not affect CO emissions in the short term.
