Abstract

Being an indispensable part of life, water has great ecological, biological, sociological and cultural importance in addition to its importance in other areas. Besides being a chemical substance that is definitely required by human beings, plants and all animals to sustain their lives, water plays a complementary role in life support systems, economic development, social prosperity and cultural values. Approaching water, which is so important for both animate and inanimate beings, as an ethical value, comprises the basic subject of this article. The main aim here is to clearly show that this recognition is an inevitable necessity for today’s life. In order to overcome the problems related to water, a water athic needs to be established.
