Abstract

The welfare level of countries is often measured through social and economic criteria. From this perspective, the household stands out as a concept with both social and economic dimensions. Considering its connection to sub-topics ranging from food security and public health to income and consumption, the importance of the household becomes even more apparent. Due to this importance, the concept of household is seen to find its place as a keyword in a wide range of academic studies. In this study, the concept of household is examined through a bibliometric analysis, both in terms of its conceptual framework revealing its richness of meaning, and its economic dimension, through both relationship networks and subject clusters. It has been observed that in the international literature, datasets reported by data centers are used under the name of household balance sheets, but a dataset suitable for a balance sheet template for households in Turkey has not been reported.
