Abstract

The aim of this study is to conduct a bibliometric analysis of scientific publications related to gifted students in the field of education over the past decade, based on the Web of Science (WoS) database. Within this scope, a total of 934 publications in the education field were identified between 2014 and 2025 using the keyword “gifted students,” and these publications were analyzed using the VOSviewer software. VOSviewer was employed to perform analyses on citation, co-authorship, co-citation, bibliographic coupling, and keyword co-occurrence. The results of the analysis reveal that the topic of gifted students received increasing scholarly attention particularly in the years 2016 and 2017. The United States and Turkey emerged as the most prolific countries in terms of publication output. Among the most productive authors in this field are Callahan, Sternberg, Renzulli, and Vantassel-Baska. Keyword analysis indicates that terms such as “gifted students,” “giftedness,” and “talent” are central, while creativity, motivation, differentiation, and STEM are frequently studied subthemes. Furthermore, the most highly cited studies tend to focus on the integration of gifted individuals into educational systems, differentiated instructional strategies, and the social-emotional development of gifted learners. The findings of this study provide a comprehensive overview of the academic trends in the field and offer valuable insights for researchers aiming to explore emerging topics and identify potential research gaps in gifted education.

Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı, son on yılda Web of Science (WoS) veri tabanında eğitim alanında özel yetenekli öğrencilerle ilgili yapılan bilimsel yayınları bibliyometrik olarak incelemektir.
