As a result of the need to study the life of the Prophet, books on his biography and military campaigns began to be written. The earliest sources on the Prophet’s biography have been examined and researched repeatedly throughout history, as different areas of interest and questions have emerged in each era. An examination of the content of the earliest sīrah sources reveals that they are arranged in a chronological sequence of events and feature narratives focused on politics and specific individuals. However, the information conveyed by the authors also provides insights into cultural, social, religious, intellectual, economic, legal, and psychological aspects. In this context, it is clear that reexamining these sources through various psychological approaches will provide new perspectives on the life of the Prophet Muhammad. This study will focus on the possibility of examining the individual and collective psychologies of the Prophet Muhammad and the early Arab recipients of his message, based on Carl Gustav Jung’s approach to analytical psychology. A qualitative research method was adopted for this study; classical sīrah and maghazi sources, along with Jung’s foundational works on analytical psychology, were examined using a comparative and interpretive approach within the framework of document analysis. In this context, it has been concluded that Jung’s approach to analytical psychology enables a reevaluation of sources on the life of the Prophet from an interdisciplinary perspective and that this approach provides an important methodological framework that can contribute to understanding the psychological world of the Prophet and his interlocutors.

Hz. Peygamber’in hayatını araştırma ihtiyacı neticesinde, siyer ve meğazi kitapları telif edilmeye başlanmıştır. İlk siyer kaynakları, her dönemde farklı ilgi alanları ve sorular ortaya çıktığı için tarih boyunca defalarca incelenmiş ve araştırılmıştır. İlk siyer kaynaklarının içeriğine bakıldığında kronolojik olay silsilesi şeklinde sıralandıkları bunun yanı sıra siyaset ve şahıs endeksli anlatıma sahip oldukları görülmektedir. Bununla birlikte müelliflerin aktarmış olduğu bilgiler neticesinde kültürel, sosyal, dinî, zihnî, iktisadî, hukukî, psikolojik yönlere dair bilgiler bulabilme imkânı mevcuttur. Konu bağlamında bu kaynakları çeşitli psikoloji yaklaşımlarıyla yeniden incelemenin, Hz. Peygamber’in hayatına yeni bakış açıları kazandıracağı açıktır. Bu çalışmada, Carl Gustav Jung’un analitik psikoloji yaklaşımı esas alınarak Hz. Peygamber’in ve tebliğe ilk muhatap olan Arapların bireysel ve kolektif psikolojilerinin incelenmesinin imkânı üzerinde durulacaktır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemi benimsenmiş; klasik siyer ve meğazi kaynakları ile Jung’un analitik psikoloji kuramına ilişkin temel eserleri doküman analizi yöntemi çerçevesinde karşılaştırmalı ve yorumlayıcı bir yaklaşımla incelenmiştir. İnceleme sonucunda, ilk siyer kaynaklarının, analitik psikoloji perspektifinden bireysel ve kolektif psikolojik dinamiklerin değerlendirilmesine elverişli veriler sunduğu tespit edilmiştir.
