Abstract

The consequences of disasters cause many economic, environmental and social problems. Disaster management process policies have been developed by states to solve these problems. Mosques, which are architectural spaces that are a part of solution policies, are used functionally in the disaster preparation, intervention and rehabilitation processes of states in different geographies. The aim of this study is to compile research on mosques included in the disaster management process in different geographies. For the purpose of determining direction, descriptive analysis method, one of the quantitative research methods, was preferred. The data was obtained from research using the keywords 'mosque, disaster, earthquake, disaster management' in Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar and Dergipark electronic databases between 01.03.2024 and 30.03.2024. As a result of the screening, 640 studies were found; Within the scope of the research, 20 studies were examined. Studies that were repeated as a result of database searches, whose full texts were not available, whose publication language was not Turkish or English, and studies that did not focus on the use of mosques after the disaster were excluded from the scope. As a result of the studies examined, it was found that the subject gained popularity after 2013, studies were concentrated in countries where natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis and floods occurred, and qualitative research methods were mostly preferred in the research conducted.
