Abstract

aforementioned fields have created a language and literature in an esthetic plane as in imbued through art. The Islamic religion and sufism’s understanding of monotheism/unity of existence is the shaping element of a broad framework ranging from daily life to art. The fact that the Muslim artist sees matter as an element of simile in the expression of the world of sentiment has also turned into an esthetic discourse in texts that are not Sufist or religious/moral. This framework, referred to as “ruh-ı musavver,” is like an implicit terminology of the poets of our classical literature. It gives birth to a terminology that expresses the own esthetic understanding of our classical poetic tradition. It is possible to find the concept of beauty or how they see beauty within the framework of a word or noun phrase based on religion and sufism. The fact that the aforementioned use points out the same reference within the unique style of the poets suggests that they have created a terminology within the framework of the concept of esthetics or beauty. This article will primarily try to determine the origin of the expression "ruh-ı musavver" as an ontological/metaphysical value as well as under which meaning and discourse it was used.
