Abstract

Branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) is among the most important vision loss causes due to retinal vascular origin after diabetes mellitus. Risk factors for BRVO has been described as ages, systemic hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, smoking cigarette, obesity, other cardiovascular risk factors, thrombophilia, genetic disorders and some ocular pathologies. Some risk factors are disputable due to different results in the literature. In this review, we scrutinized the risk factors for BRVO in the light of the previous studies.
