Abstract
Although the intersection of migration and literature has existed for centuries, migration literature has only recently emerged as a distinct field in the modern era.. While centered on migration, the literature encompasses both voluntary and forced movements. Recent conflicts, particularly the Syrian civil war, have intensified interest in forced displacement and its societal impacts. Literature serves as a powerful medium to explore these profound transformations. This study examines Tellu’l-Verd, an Arabic novel by Syrian author Asma Mu‘aykıl, which portrays migration through a realist style. The novel traces a journey from Syria to Turkey, then to Europe and back, shedding light on the emotional and social toll of war on both individuals and communities. It embodies the experiences of displacement, cultural adaptation, and alienation, making it understandable to its readers. Methodologically, the study adopts a sociological and psychological perspective, using textual and thematic analysis. This study examines the novel Tellu'l-Verd through thematic analysis within the framework of migration literature and forced displacement theories, addressing themes of migration, identity transformation, and trauma.
