Abstract
In this research, the position of Turkish music in the final years of the Early Republic period is put forward through music articles published in daily newspapers. The sample of the research consists of ten music articles published in the Akşam newspaper in 1947. The articles are analyzed according to their structural and thematic characteristics using document analysis and content analysis methods. In this context, the data obtained were analyzed in a computer environment using the IBM Statistics SPSS 2024 software package, and the findings were presented through tables and graphs. Designed from the perspective of historical musicology, this research is of importance in terms of making visible the source value of daily newspapers for historical musicology research, and in shedding light on the position of Turkish music in 1947. Bu araştırmada, Türk müziğinin Erken Cumhuriyet Dönemi’nin son yıllarındaki konumu, gündelik gazetelerde yayımlanan müzik makaleleri üzerinden ortaya koyulmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, 1947 yılında Akşam gazetesinde yayımlanan on müzik makalesi oluşturmaktadır. Makaleler doküman analizi ve içerik çözümlemesi yöntemi kullanılarak yapısal ve tematik özelliklerine göre analiz edilmiştir. Bu bağlamda elde edilen verilerin bilgisayar ortamında IBM SPSS Statistics 2024 paket programı ile analizleri gerçekleştirilmiş ve elde edilen bulgular tablo ve grafikler aracılığıyla sunulmuştur. Tarihsel müzikoloji perspektifinden tasarlanan bu araştırma, Türk müziğinin 1947 yılındaki mevcut konumuna ışık tutması ve gündelik gazetelerin tarihsel müzikoloji araştırmaları için sahip olduğu kaynak değerini görünür kılması bakımından önem taşımaktadır. Araştırma neticesinde elde edilen bulgular, dönemin müzikte Batılılaşma ideolojisi bağlamında Batı müziğinin evrensel ve ileri bir müzik türü olarak temsilinin sürdürüldüğü, buna karşın yıllarca tahakküme uğrayan alaturka müziğin toplumsal alanda etkili bir şekilde yer edindiğini göstermektedir. Ayrıca bulgular, alaturka müzik alanında faaliyet gösteren sanatkârların biyografileri, ses sanatkârları arasında etkili olan cinsiyetçi yaklaşım, sanatkârların yaşadığı ekonomik sorunlar ve mesleki yönelim, müzik magazininin gelişimi, çalgılar üzerinde gerçekleştirilen deneysel çalışmalar ve toplu icra şekillerindeki yenilikçi yaklaşımlara da ışık tutmaktadır.
