Abstract

This study examined the relationship between university students' career adapt abilities and academic life satisfaction. The study was conducted using a correlational survey model; the sample consisted of 305 students studying at the Faculties of Sports Sciences at Selçuk University and Kütahya Dumlupınar University. Data were collected using the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS-5-SF) and the Academic Life Satisfaction Scale. Both scales have a second-order structure and were used unidimensionally in the analyses. Prior to proceeding with data analysis, normality analysis was performed and, as the data were normally distributed, parametric tests such as the t-test, Pearson correlation and simple linear regression analyses were conducted. Cronbach's Alpha analysis was applied to determine the internal consistency values of the data. The SPSS 27.00 software package was used for data analysis. The findings showed that career adapt abilities differed significantly according to gender and sporting activity variables, while academic life satisfaction did not differ according to these variables. Furthermore, a positive and moderately significant relationship was found between career adapt abilities and academic life satisfaction; it was determined that career adapt abilities were a significant predictor of academic life satisfaction.
