Abstract

Şahika Karaca's work titled Lost Object - Phenomena of the Lost Object in Turkish Poetry is an important resource for Turkish literature researchers and students. Karaca expresses the lost object, which is the subject of both psychoanalysis and philosophy, as the deepest thing that cannot be explained in the person. The thing also appears as a phenomenon in literature\art. In this context, in order to create the theoretical framework in the study, a ranking from the outermost to the innermost was taken as a basis, benefiting from the ideas of western thinkers. Sigmund Freud and Lacan form the center of this theoretical discussion. In addition, concepts such as the causal function of language and semiotics are examined in separate sections and philosophers who work on these subjects are mentioned. Then, the relationship of these concepts with literature was examined. The poems of poets who gave outstanding examples of Turkish poetry were also benefited from. At the end of her work, Karaca includes the poems of four poets independently. Here she touches upon concepts such as love, mourning, eroticism and death. As in Karaca's other works, her meticulousness and mastery of the subject are obvious in this study. In our study, Şahika Karaca's study titled Lost Object - Phenomena of the Lost Object in Turkish Poetry will be introduced.
