Abstract

The Industry 5.0 approach emphasizes human-centered production and service systems, increasing the importance of collaboration between humans and smart technologies. The widespread adoption of automation systems, robotic applications, and smart technologies in the logistics sector necessitates the effective management of human-machine interaction. In this context, identifying the factors affecting human-machine collaboration in logistics systems and revealing the relationships between these factors has become an important research topic. The aim of this study is to identify the key criteria affecting human-machine collaboration in logistics systems within the framework of the Industry 5.0 approach and to analyze the causal relationships among these criteria. In the study, the DEMATEL (Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory) method, one of the multi-criteria decision-making methods, was used to reveal the interactions between the criteria. First, criteria affecting human-machine collaboration were identified based on a literature review and expert opinions, and then the DEMATEL method was applied to evaluate the direct impact relationships among the criteria. Through the application of the DEMATEL analysis, the degrees to which the criteria influence and are influenced by one another were systematically determined, and the cause-and-effect relationships between the criteria were also revealed. The findings obtained indicate that human-centered factors are particularly decisive in human-machine collaboration within logistics systems. The results reveal that factors such as employees' learning processes, attitudes toward technology, and cognitive workload play a significant role in the effectiveness of human-machine interaction. This study contributes to a better understanding of human-centered technological transformation processes in logistics systems within the framework of Industry 5.0.
