Abstract

With the proliferation of digital academic communication, researchers are increasingly exposed to invitation emails from predatory journals and conferences. These invitations not only waste time but can also negatively impact scientific review processes and academic decision-making mechanisms. This paper evaluates the current state of predatory publishing by examining academic invitations received by a general surgery academic's institutional email account over a specific period.
