Abstract

This systematic review aims to examine postgraduate theses related to the use of technology in midwifery services in Turkey, evaluating the contributions of technology-based applications to midwifery education and clinical care processes. Theses registered in the National Thesis Center were scanned using keywords such as "technology, midwifery, virtual reality, web-based applications." The 17 postgraduate theses included in the review were analyzed regarding the type of technology used, application areas, sample size, research methods, and results. The examined theses revealed that virtual reality, web-based applications, and simulation-based education are widely used in midwifery services. These technologies were found to be effective in reducing the stress and anxiety of pregnant women, especially during the prenatal and birthing processes. Additionally, telehealth services for midwives were seen to facilitate access to healthcare for women in rural areas. Technology-based applications provide significant contributions to midwifery education and clinical practices. However, more education and strengthened infrastructure are needed for the widespread use of these technologies. Future research should further explore the integration of technological advancements into midwifery services.
