Abstract

Technological developments and the rate at which individuals spend time on social media platforms are increasing day by day. The roles of individuals, especially young people, in virtual belonging, cyberbullying and victimization are a current issue from a psychological perspective on social media platforms. In this study, high school students' cyber belonging and cyber bullying and victimization situations are examined according to various variables (gender, school type, grade level, parental relationship status, etc.). The research universe consists of high school students studying in Azerbaijan; the sample is formed by cluster sampling method from 500 students studying in 10th and 11th grades in Baku and Sumgayit cities of Azerbaijan (N=500). In the research, relational screening model, which is one of the general screening models among quantitative research methods, was used. Data in the research were obtained with the tools of "Virtual Belonging Scale" and "Revised Cyberbullying Inventory". As a result of the research, it was seen that almost half of the high school students had never bullied and had a high rate of belonging. In addition, a positive and low relationship was found between belonging and bullying and victimization.
