Abstract
The aim of the study was to investigate the level of acceptance of migration in rural areas. The issue of what kind of situations will arise with the acceptance of immigration has been examined. The study was carried out with ten participants residing in rural areas and was conducted through the (interview) technique used in qualitative research. It has been observed that the people of this region have experienced significant problems regarding migration as a result of their previous experiences. The acceptance of individuals from different tribal structures leads to a change in the political, economic and cultural balances in the village. Since this situation is not accepted by the villagers, migration from outside is viewed negatively. Tribal identity appears to shape the social and economic order. Although village settlements have a closed structure against external migration, their openness to the outside world is significantly low. Because there is a prejudice that immigrants come for reasons such as exile, crime, political differences. These situations manifest themselves as social harmony in village settlements, conflicts and unrest in neighborly relations. It shows that tribal solidarity is strong among the masses in the village, that social homogeneity is tried to be preserved, that the negative situations experienced in the past reinforce the anti-immigration attitudes and that immigration can be perceived not only as an economic but also as a cultural and security-based threat. This situation shows that the village has an introverted structure and is closed to external migration. As a result, the decision of the village elders, the tribal structure and introversion, the inadequacy of the land in the village, and the negative experiences that arose as a result of accepting migration in the past are the important reasons for not accepting migration to rural areas.
