Abstract

With the rise to power of the Law and Justice Party (Prawo i Sprawiedliwość, PiS) in Poland in 2015, a significant transformation in foreign policy began to take place. This transformation in Poland's foreign policy is influenced by both internal and external factors. In this context, the study will analyze the foreign policy of Poland during the PiS period by utilizing the methodology of neoclassical realism, which incorporates both internal and external factors in the determination of foreign policy. The study seeks to answer the question: "What transformations have occurred in Poland's foreign policy during the PiS period?" The study is based on the following arguments: “The rise to power of the PiS, a conservative- nationalist party, is not independent of the growing wave of nationalism across Europe,” “The key dynamics of Poland's foreign policy during the PiS period are its security policy based on strategic partnership with the United States, skepticism towards Europe, and opposition to Russia,” and “Historical perceptions and security-driven approaches have once again become prominent in Poland’s foreign policy during the PiS period.”
