The 2009 movie My Sister's Keeper, directed by Nick Cassavetes, is about Anna and her family, who were designed to be a donor to her cancer-stricken sister. The film depicts the concept of "designed person", its causes and consequences, in the atmosphere of love of family ties, thanks to the science of genetics. However, it is thought that this concept does not seem as innocent as it is reflected in the movie, and that it will bring ethical and legal problems of unrestricted human designs in the future. In this study, it is aimed to make ethical evaluations by drawing attention to the problems that arise in the film. Günümüzde bilimin ulaştığı gelişmişlik düzeyi ve teknolojiye yansımaları mükemmel “insan tasarımı”nın mümkün olabileceğini göstermektedir. Yönetmenliğini Nick Cassavetes’in yaptığı 2009 yılı yapımı My Sister’s Keeper (Kız Kardeşimin Hikayesi) başlıklı film kanser hastası ablasına donör olması için tasarlanan Anna ve ailesini konu almaktadır. Film genetik bilimi sayesinde “tasarlanmış insan” kavramını, neden ve sonuçlarını aile bağlarının sevgi atmosferi içinde betimlemektedir. Ancak bu kavramın filmde yansıtıldığı kadar masum görünmediği, gelecekte sınırlandırılmamış insan tasarımlarının etik ve yasal sorunlarını da beraberinde getireceği düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışmada film özelinde ortaya çıkan sorunlara dikkat çekilerek etik değerlendirmelerin yapılması amaçlanmaktadır.
