Abstract
Firefighting operations are complex activities involving high risk, critical time and resource management, and requiring quick and accurate decisions. In this context, selecting the right technologies is vital for increasing operational efficiency, reducing response times, and ensuring the safety of firefighters. Accordingly, the main objective of the research is to determine the most suitable drone alternative for use in firefighting operations in fire services using a scientific and systematic method. In the study, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), which are Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods, were applied together. Based on a literature review, a total of 11 criteria were identified that reflect the challenges firefighters face at the scene of a fire and the basic requirements of their duties: response speed, durability, flight time, camera quality, range, load capacity, operating temperature, ease of maintenance and repair, ease of use, cost, and wind resistance. Seven different drone alternatives meeting these criteria were evaluated. The AHP method was used to calculate the criterion weights, ensure consistency, and rank the alternatives using the TOPSIS method. The findings reveal that characteristics such as response speed, durability, and range are prioritized due to the nature of firefighting operations, and indicate that the Avy Aera (VTOL) model is the alternative that best meets these requirements. The study aims to contribute to operational success by offering a systematic approach to the decision-making processes of firefighting units.
Çalışmada, Çok Kriterli Karar Verme (ÇKKV) yöntemlerinden Analitik Hiyerarşi Süreci (AHP) ve Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) birlikte uygulanmıştır.
