Abstract

In this study, the Galactic population types of selected metal-poor stars from the solar neighbourhood are investigated simultaneously with four different methods in terms of their spatial, kinematic, dynamical orbital parameters and chemical. High-resolution spectra of the four selected stars were obtained from the PolarBase database, while photometric and astrometric data were obtained from the $Gaia$ DR3 catalogue. The kinematic and dynamical orbital parameters of the four stars were calculated using the galpy code developed by Bovy2015 and the MWPotential2014 potentials. Differential rotation and LSR corrections were applied to the space velocity components calculated for the stars to remove known biases. As a result of the analyses performed simultaneously with different methods, it was found that the Galactic populations of metal-poor stars in the vicinity of the Sun differ. Considering the atmospheric model parameters, element abundances and kinematic analysis results of the stars, it was determined that the Galactic population separation performed by this hybrid method was more accurate. Accordingly, HD 22879 and HD 144579 belong to the thick disc of the Galaxy, while HD 188510 and HD 201891 belong to the halo population.
