Abstract

It is known that boron is an essential element for humans and animals. Boron play important roles in many life processes including embryogenesis, bone growth and maintenance, immune function and psychomotor skills. However, it is indicated that boron compounds have bacteriostatic, bacteriocidal, fungistatic, fungicidal and antiviral effects. The antibacterial property and known effects of boron on bone metabolism and immune responseresearchers dealing with periodontics. In the near future, the use of boron-containing agents in periodontology will be considered
