Abstract

The goal of educational institutions is to raise children, who are the future of a country, as healthy individuals equipped with various knowledge and skills in line with a common purpose. Therefore, educational institutions must be adequately equipped in terms of physical infrastructure and teaching materials. The aim of this study is to examine teachers' views on the Ministry of National Education's 10,000 Schools in Basic Education project. The research was designed as a case study within the qualitative research approach. The sample of the research consists of 12 teachers working in schools where this project is implemented, selected according to the criterion sampling method within the purposive sampling method. A semi-structured interview form and a researcher's diary were used as data collection tools in the research. The data obtained were interpreted using content analysis with the NVivo 9.2 computer software package. As a result, it was found that the project supported equal opportunities among students, teachers conducted more effective lessons with the materials provided to the school, and students were happy. Thanks to the project, it was seen that various needs of the school, such as internet, water, electricity, paint, and teaching materials, were met. However, it has been revealed that the project was implemented without proper planning, the module used was inadequate in meeting the needs, there was insufficient knowledge on how to use the module, funds were sent to schools late, school administrators did not know how to spend these funds, and some renovations were not carried out in schools. Various recommendations have been made based on the results obtained.
