Abstract

This study aims to systematically analyze the studies on the use of Desmos in mathematics education from thematic and methodological perspectives. The research was conducted within a qualitative approach using descriptive content analysis. Data were obtained from 16 articles published between 2020 and 2025 in the Google Scholar database, selected according to predetermined inclusion criteria. During the analysis process, the articles were coded according to publication year, purpose, mathematical domains, research methods and designs, sample profiles, data collection instruments, and data analysis techniques. The coding process was carried out independently by multiple researchers, and inter-coder reliability was ensured through consistency checks. The findings revealed that research on Desmos has gained significant attention in recent years, with a particular focus on conceptual understanding and academic achievement. In terms of mathematical domains, the studies mostly concentrated on numbers and algebra, while geometry, data analysis and probability, and calculus were also addressed. Methodologically, qualitative approaches-especially case studies-were the most common. The majority of the sample groups involved students, while a limited number of studies focused on teachers and pre-service teachers. The results indicate that Desmos is an important tool in mathematics education, supporting conceptual understanding, enabling visualization, and fostering interactive learning. However, the limited number of studies with teachers and pre-service teachers highlights the need for further research focusing on these groups.
