Abstract

This study was designed to examine the relationship between psychological counselors' happiness levels, social intelligence, and loneliness in their work lives. The research group consisted of psychological counselors working in Van city center and its districts, and the study was conducted using a correlational survey model. The “Loneliness in Work Life Scale,” “Social Intelligence Scale,” and “Oxford Happiness Scale” were used to collect research data. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent samples t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and linear regression analysis. According to the research results, psychological counselors have low levels of loneliness in their work life, while their social intelligence and happiness levels are high. The study found a positive and significant relationship between social intelligence and happiness levels, while social intelligence and happiness levels were found to be negatively related to loneliness in work life. Finally, the stepwise regression analysis revealed that the emotional deprivation subscale of the loneliness scale and the social awareness and social skills subscales of the social intelligence scale were significant predictors of happiness.
