Abstract

Objective: The subsequent major disasters experienced in Turkey following the 2020 pandemic have led to a demanding and risky work schedule for prehospital emergency healthcare workers. While the psychological resilience of prehospital workers in Turkey is an important research question, the lack of a Turkish-language measurement tool is striking. This study is expected to address this gap.It is aimed to adapt the Emergency Health Services and Resilience Scale, originally developed in English in 2019, into Turkish. Material and Methods: Initially, the scale was translated into Turkish, and 14 experts were consulted to ensure its content validity. With content validity established, the scale was applied to a sample group of 485 participants and statistical analyses were conducted. Item analyses, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted in the statistical studies. Results: In the content validity phase of the analyses, the scale's CVR value was calculated as 0.59 and its CVI value as 0.92. Other item analyses, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis results revealed a KMO value of 0.868, a Bartlet's Test of Sphericity value of 4053.753, and a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.814. Conclusion: The necessary analyses were conducted to adapt the Emergency Health Services Resilience Scale, originally published in English, to the Turkish language and use it as a measurement tool. Following these analyses, it was concluded that the adaptation of the scale was successful. The scale was now ready for use in the Turkish language.
