Abstract
The aim of this study was to compare the effects of 8-week complex training (CT, n=16) and high-intensity interval training (HIIT, n=16) programs on physical, anthropometric, biomotor, and technical capacity parameters in male futsal players aged 14-17. A total of 32 athletes participated voluntarily. All participants were assessed before (pre-test) and after (post-test) using body weight, BMI, body fat percentage, anaerobic power via vertical jump, VO2max via 20-meter shuttle run, Mor-Christian passing and shooting tests (futsal adaptation), Illinois dribbling test, and Yeagley ball bouncing test. Since the data showed a normal distribution (p>0.05), the Paired Sample t-test was used for within-group comparisons, and the Independent Samples t-test was used for between-group comparisons. Within-group analyses revealed significant improvements in body weight, BMI, BFP, anaerobic power, VO2max, and passing in both groups (p<0.05). Additionally, CT demonstrated significant improvements in shooting (p<0.05). Between-group post-test comparisons showed significant differences in favor of CT for passing (g=1.57, large effect), dribbling (g=0.79, moderate effect), and ball bouncing (g=0.88, large effect) (p<0.05). In conclusion, while both training models similarly improved physical and motoric capacities, complex training produced more pronounced and comprehensive effects on technical capacity.
