Abstract

Small and medium-sized enterprises harbor structural deficiencies regarding occupational health and safety practices despite their substantial employment share. The current review study investigates the multidimensional impacts of occupational health and safety management practices on employee job satisfaction within small enterprises. Welfare management, emergency management, and workplace environment management are analyzed in depth. Related management practices visibly increase organizational commitment by supporting the well-being of the personnel. Financial inadequacies, legal gaps, and the lack of qualified human resources complicate the establishment of a robust safety culture. When a safe working climate is established, personnel motivation accelerates and internal absenteeism decreases significantly. The short hierarchical distance between management and staff maximizes the conversion rate of implemented safety measures into concrete job satisfaction. The utilization of empirical methods suitable for the unique socioeconomic conditions of Turkey is strongly recommended. Expanding financial incentive mechanisms becomes an urgent necessity for policy makers.
