Abstract
This study is based on the observations and notes derived from four months of field research in the M'zab Valley—the ancient homeland of Algerian Ibadis—conducted as part of my doctoral dissertation on North African Ibadism. During this period, the principal Ibadi centers in the region were examined on-site, interviews were conducted with prominent figures, and a comprehensive literature review was carried out. Rather than relying exclusively on theoretical data, active participation in the social activities of the Ibadi community was undertaken, allowing for close observation of the people's daily and religious lives. All the insights and notes gathered in the field are presented to the reader in this study, supported by a rich visual archive.
Özet
Bu çalışma, Kuzey Afrika İbâdîliği üzerine yürüttüğüm doktora tezi kapsamında, Cezayir İbâdîlerinin kadim yurdu Mizab Vadisi'ne gerçekleştirdiğim dört aylık saha araştırmasının gözlem ve notlarına dayanmaktadır. Süreç boyunca bölgedeki başlıca İbâdî merkezleri yerinde incelenmiş, önde gelen şahsiyetlerle mülakatlar gerçekleştirilmiş ve kapsamlı bir kaynak taraması yürütülmüştür. Sadece teorik verilerle sınırlı kalınmayarak İbâdî toplumunun sosyal etkinliklerine bizzat iştirak edilmiş; halkın günlük ve dinî yaşantısı yakından gözlemlenmiştir. Sahada elde edilen tüm bu birikim ve notlar, zengin bir görsel arşivle desteklenerek bu çalışmada okuyucuya sunulmuştur.
