Bu çalışma, Bulgaristan’ın Elena şehrinde doğup çocukluk yıllarını Kırcaali’nin Mestanlı ilçesinde geçiren şair Sebahat Söylemez’in şiirlerini psikanalitik kuramın üç farklı ekseninde -Freud’un rüya yorumu, Jung’un arketipsel yaklaşımı ve Lacan’ın dil/özne teorisi- incelemektedir. Söylemez’in şiirleri bireysel duygulanım ile kolektif hafızanın iç içe geçtiği bir alan olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmanın temel amacı, şairin şiirsel benliğinin oluşumunda rüya, arketip ve arzu kavramlarının nasıl iç içe geçtiğini ortaya koymaktır. Freud’un bastırma, yoğunlaştırma ve rüya çalışması kavramları; Söylemez’in özellikle “Der-i Se‘âdet” ve “Harikulade Bir Günbatımı” gibi şiirlerinde bastırılmış arzuların renk ve mekân imgeleriyle nasıl dönüştüğünü göstermektedir.
