Abstract

Objective: This descriptive study is designed to determine nurses' perceptions of occupational safety and the associated factors. Materials and Methods: The Personal Information Form and the Occupational Safety Scale for Hospital Healthcare Workers were used as data collection tools. Data analysis was conducted using the IBM SPSS 22 statistical package program. Results: The nurses' mean scale score was calculated as 3.58 ±0.61. The highest scores were obtained in the "Health Screening and Registration Systems" sub-dimension, and the lowest in the "Occupational Diseases and Complaints" sub-dimension. Significant statistical differences (p 0.05). Conclusion: Research findings reveal that the job security perceptions of nurses working in hospitals are strong in some areas and lacking in others. It has been found that nurses who participate in occupational safety training have a higher perception of safety, while this perception decreases significantly among nurses who have experienced a workplace accident. Up-to-date policies should be implemented to strengthen the occupational safety culture in healthcare institutions, and all employees should be actively involved in this process.
