Abstract

THE EFFECT OF PLANETARY HEALTH DIET PROGRAM GIVEN WITH DIFFERENT TEACHING TECHNIQUES ON SUSTAINABLE AND HEALTHY NUTRITION BEHAVIOR OF STUDENTS: A RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED STUDY ABSTRACT Objective:This study aimed to assess how a planetary health diet programme delivered through different instructional techniques influenced students’ sustainable and healthy eating behaviours. Materials and Methods: A randomized controlled semi-experimental design was applied. The group assignments for the students were determined online using the www.random.org website. The study was conducted in Türkiye. The study population comprised 88 midwifery students and 118 nursing students. Data were obtained with a Personal Information Form and the Sustainable and Healthy Nutrition Behavior Scale. The data were evaluated using descriptive statistics, including means and standard deviations, together with one-way ANOVA and Pearson’s chi-square or Fisher’s exact test, as appropriate. Results: After the intervention, students in the creative drama arm demonstrated higher sustainable and healthy eating behaviour scores than those receiving asynchronous or conventional instruction (p 0.05).Conclusion: The planetary health diet program education utilizing creative drama has a positive impact on midwifery and nursing students' sustainable and healthy nutrition behaviors. Keywords: Planetary health diet program, sustainable and healthy nutrition behavior, midwifery, nursing, drama education
