Abstract

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between empathy skills and ridicule levels of football players in adolescence. The sample of the study consisted of 158 volunteer athletes selected by convenience sampling method among amateur football players between the ages of 13-18 playing football in Istanbul Kağıthane region. Personal information form, empathy scale and mockery scale in children and adolescents were used to collect the research data. The mean score of the school sub-dimension of the ridicule scale of the 13-14 age group football players is higher than the 17-18 age group. The mean empathy scale score of those with 2-3 siblings is higher than those with 4 or more siblings. The mean score of the physical appearance sub-dimension of the teasing scale of the participants whose parents are separated is higher than those whose parents are together. When the relationship between the empathy skill scale and the ridicule scale is analysed, there is no statistical relationship between them.

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, adölesan dönemindeki futbolcuların empati becerileri ile alay edilme düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın örneklemini İstanbul Kağıthane bölgesinde futbol oynayan 13-18 yaş aralığındaki amatör futbolcular arasından kolayda örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen gönüllü 158 sporcu oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında kişisel bilgi formu, empati ölçeği ve çocuk ve ergenlerde alay edilme ölçeği kullanılmıştır. 13-14 yaş grubu futbol oynayan sporcuların alay edilme ölçeği okul alt boyut puan ortalaması 17-18 yaş grubundan yüksektir. 2-3 kardeşi olanların empati ölçeği puan ortalaması 4 ve fazla kardeşi olanlardan yüksektir. Anne babası ayrı olan katılımcıların alay edilme ölçeği fiziksel görünüş alt boyut puan ortalaması anne babası birlikte olanlardan yüksektir. Empati becerisi ölçeği ile alay edilme ölçeğinin ilişkisi incelendiğinde ise aralarında istatistiki bir ilişki bulunmamaktadır.
