This study examines the place of the concept of Kızılelma in Turkish intellectual history and its semantic transformation throughout history. The concept is traced from early periods, associated with Turkish conceptions of dominance and mythology, to the present day. In this context, the study evaluates the concept's place in the Ottoman Empire's understanding of conquest, its relationship with the national ideal and the Turanist thought in the Republican era, and its use in contemporary Turkish political discourse. Using historical analysis and document review as qualitative methods, the study examines historical sources, travelogues, literary works, and political discourses. The findings show that Kızılelma does not have a fixed meaning, but is reinterpreted according to the political and cultural conditions of each period. The concept was generally associated with conquest and expansion goals in the Ottoman period, shaped around national consciousness and the idea of Turkic unity in the modern period, and today has acquired a contemporary symbolic meaning linked to technology, the defense industry, and strategic goals. Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Kızılelma kavramının Türk düşünce tarihindeki yerini ve tarihsel süreçteki anlamsal dönüşümünü incelemektir. Araştırmada kavram, Türk hâkimiyet ve mitolojik tasavvurlarıyla ilişkilendirilen erken dönemlerden günümüze kadar uzanan süreç içerisinde ele alınmıştır. Bu kapsamda kavramın Osmanlı Devleti’nin fetih anlayışındaki yeri, Cumhuriyet dönemindeki millî ülkü ve Turan düşüncesiyle ilişkisi ile günümüz Türk siyasal söylemindeki kullanımı değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarihsel analiz ve doküman incelemesi kullanılarak tarihî kaynaklar, seyahatnameler, edebî eserler ve siyasi söylemler incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, Kızılelma’nın sabit bir anlama sahip olmadığını, her dönemin siyasal ve kültürel şartlarına göre yeniden yorumlandığını göstermektedir. Kavramın Osmanlı döneminde genellikle fetih ve genişleme hedefleriyle ilişkilendirildiği, modern dönemde millî bilinç ve Türk birliği düşüncesi etrafında şekillendiği ve günümüzde ise teknoloji, savunma sanayii ve stratejik hedeflerle bağlantılı çağdaş bir sembolik anlam kazandığı tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak Kızılelma, Türk siyasal ve kültürel düşüncesinde farklı bağlamlarda yeniden üretilen önemli bir düşünsel miras ve sembolik ideal olarak varlığını sürdürmektedir.
