Abstract

Aim: This study examined relationships among neck and upper extremity pain, functional disability, kinesiophobia, and mental training skills in mobile esports players with musculoskeletal pain. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 210 mobile esports players in Türkiye. Participants completed demographic questionnaire, Neck Disability Index, QuickDASH, Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia, and Mental Training Inventory in Sports. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and multiple regression after normality verification. Results: Pain intensity showed a significant positive correlation with kinesiophobia (r=0.55). Functional disability indices were positively correlated (r=0.52–.54), whereas mental training was negatively correlated (r=−.35). Regression analysis identified pain intensity as strongest predictor (β=0.38, p<0.001), and model explained 54% variance (R²=0.54). Conclusion: Kinesiophobia in mobile esports players is strongly associated with pain, while mental training may represent a potential protective factor.
