Abstract

The decentralized nature of the bitcoin ecosystem, in contrast to traditional banking techniques, attracts attention due to the advantages of speed and flexibility offered by digital technology. This study examines the possible effects of cryptocurrencies and cutting-edge financial technology on economic development. We tried to highlight the need for rules that enable innovative financial services and products while simultaneously protecting investors and consumers to ensure growth of the cryptocurrency ecosystem. The study attempts to provide policy makers with a roadmap for regulating cryptocurrency assets. In this context, it seems that there is a need for common regulatory standards at global level and that crypto assets require monitoring in terms of taxation and the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism. To maintain a sustainable crypto ecosystem, nations should also shape public-private sector and university alliances, entrepreneurial incentives, technology transfer offices, incubation centers, training programs, and awareness-raising initiatives.
